ADS-L is a new technical standard for Electronic Conspicuity developed by EASA together with an expert group. Version 1 of the standard was released in December 2022 and meets the requirements of SERA.6005 (c): Aircraft emitting ADS-L are considered electronically visible and may enter U-Space airspace.
With the next firmware update, PowerFLARM generation devices will be able to transmit ADS-L (868 MHz, M-Band). Third-party products can also be upgraded if they are based on PowerFLARM modules. Devices from the Classic generation will not be supported.
The update will be available on April 29, 2024. To activate ADS-L, an extension must be purchased in our webshop and loaded onto the device. The FLARM functions will not be changed or impaired by ADS-L in any way.
